All from the comfort of your own plane at the side of your experienced pilot.

Packages can be tailored to suit in 30 minute blocks , if you have something specific in mind please call and we can talk you through the options.

You are welcome to request a route to the pilot on the day of your flight and they will do their best to honour it, however please note: not all routes are possible every day due to weather and Air Traffic Control restrictions.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?

When you arrive for your flight, after a warm welcome you will be given a pre-flight safety briefing by your pilot one of our Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved instructors. During the flight there will be an opportunity to fly the aircraft yourself and find out what it's really like to be in control of this beautiful aircraft in flight.

Be sure to bring a camera to capture the spectacular views and to make the most of this exhilarating experience.

WHAT IS A MICROLIGHT & HOW FAST DOES IT FLY?

A microlight is a powered aircraft build within the following definition - maximum all up weight allowable 450 kgs for a two seat aircraft- UNFORTUNATELY THIS MEANS THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT AS A PASSENGER IS 16 STONES.

Most microlights fly at speeds between 70 & 80 mph but the newer designs of fixed wing microlights fly at similar speeds as light aircraft up to 150mph in some cases.

WHAT TYPE OF AIRCRAFT WILL I BE FLYING IN?

Here at Kernan we use the German built Ikarus C42. This is a top of the range microlight which is known as the BMW of the skies. This aircraft is fully enclosed and is equipped with a heater so that even on the coldest day you can come for your flight dressed in normal attire. You really will have an experience to remember! Don't forget your camera or camcorder!

IS MICROLIGHT FLYING SAFE?

Microlight flying is no more dangerous than driving – we would much prefer to fly than drive.

All our aircraft are built by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved companies to a very high airworthiness standard and undergo a very rigorous annual MOT like inspection, by CAA approved inspectors.

All our gift vouchers flights are flown by our microlight instructors who are highly trained professionals who must revalidate their ratings every three years, therefore you are in the safest possible hands.

The Legal Bit:
Each Voucher has a valid until date and we reserve the right not to redeem vouchers that have past this date.
The Validity period can be extended for 2 months at a cost of £30.
If your flight is cancelled by ourselves due to operational reasons and the next available date is past your validity period we will honour the voucher at no extra cost.
As we live in a country with unpredictable and changeable weather we do from time to time have to rearrange flight, we always rearrange at the earliest possible time and weather delays are not a valid reason for a refund.
